"Looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfector of our faith." Hebrews 12:2
First Baptist Church offers a variety of activities for young adults in the Morganton area. These include opportunities for spiritual growth such as Sunday morning Bible study and worship along with special courses designed for this age group and offered by The Center for Spiritual Formation. A popular course has been the "Soul Cafe", a month-long, weeknight coffee house where participants have thought provoking discussions centered on Christianity and the arts (movies, music, etc.) Young adults can share their musical abilities through participation in the Chancel Choir and the adult handbell group. Young adults are able to express their God-given gifts through servant ministry by volunteering for mission activities in the community, the state, the country and the world.

In addition to many opportunities for service and learning, First Baptist offers young adults numerous occasions for Christian fellowship including meals together, hiking, skiing, ballgames, overnight retreats, and theme parties. Young adults provide support and encouragement to each other on a daily basis and on significant occasions such as holidays and in times of personal struggle or need.
Many of the special ministries of First Baptist Church provide service opportunities for young adults as well as support and assistance to them.
In addition to involving college and seminary students in all aspects of young adult activities when they are home, First Baptist Church seeks to affirm these young people throughout the year. Students receive the weekly church newsletter and other special communications, and a "goodie box" of special treats is sent to them from the church family each February.
