FBC Reopening Guidelines

Revised December 2021

As First Baptist continues to reopen for sanctuary worship, those who wish or need to continue to worship virtually are affirmed in their decision, knowing that a low risk for Covid transmission persists. These Guidelines for attendance will be available on the FBC website and Facebook formats.

Anyone with cough, fever or any other illness symptoms within the previous 5 days or who has had a diagnosis or been exposed to anyone with Covid in the previous 14 days MUST stay home.

For unvaccinated persons: Masks which cover the nose and mouth must be worn for the entire time they are on church properties.

For fully vaccinated persons: Masks are optional as long as the Burke County New Case Rate remains below 25/100,00.

When/if the Burke County rate climbs above 25/100/000, masks will again be recommended.

Hand sanitizer and masks will continue be available at the sanctuary entrances.

Masks are required in the Preschool/Nursery area (first floor of the Education Building).

Social distancing between household/close friend groups is recommended.

There will be no greeting time at beginning of service or use of registration notebooks.

Offering plates will be available at the exits.

Your Task Force will continue to monitor the rate of new Covid cases in Burke County with the target of staying below a weekly average of 25 daily new cases /100,000 population. Please access this website for further details: https://www.covidactnow.org/us/north_carolina-nc/county/burke_county?s=1137258

Worshipers MUST call and report to the church office if they test positive for Covid within two weeks following attendance at sanctuary worship and agree to allow FBC staff to notify others who attended that service, with worshiper anonymity maintained.

Appropriate sanitation procedures will continue to be followed for the sanctuary and church building.

Church building air filters have been upgraded and air ventilation increased.

The Deacons have given latitude to the Covid Task Force to periodically modify these recommendations based on community risk levels using Burke County Covid prevalence, infection rate and other governmental recommendations
