Youth Ministry

“Go therefore into the streets, and invite everyone you find to the banquet.” Matthew 22: 9

Our mission statement, “Every Member a Minister,” rings true for all ages at First Baptist Church(FBC) Morganton. All youth are encouraged to discover their gifts, talents, and interests and use them to the glory of God. Youth have a place in Sunday Morning Worship services, mission projects, special events, learning opportunities, and Youth Ministries Committee.

FBC Morganton takes safety seriously. All adults that work with children and/or youth go through a screening process that includes a background check. Know that your child and/or youth is/are being cared for with the love of Christ in mind.

Learning opportunities include Sunday morning Bible study and worship; mission, discipleship, and servant leadership training; Vacation Bible School; and special studies on Sunday evenings and during weekend retreats. Super Session on Sunday evening offers a unique opportunity for small group discussion and sharing that encourages openness, accountability, and friendship.

First Baptist offers opportunities in the area of music. Youth contribute musically to worship services and other church functions. Super Session on Sunday evenings, retreats, and mission activities all provide great occasions for sharing praise and love through song and instruments.

Youth at First Baptist are actively involved in service and missions. Participation in community activities like Habitat for Humanity, Soup Kitchen, food drives, homebound visitation, the Great Pumpkin Party, Scouts, Vacation Bible School, and special service projects promote service, leadership, and spiritual growth.

Youth enjoy fellowship and recreation activities throughout the year. Weekend retreats, promoting both Christian growth and commitment, combine fellowship and recreation with Bible study. Activities like trips to theme parks, hiking, skiing, lake parties, cookouts, and sports competitions provide on-going opportunities for Christian connections with other youth along with lots of fun.
